Why Choose This Card
This card stands out as a strong option for Qantas Frequent Flyers who are looking for meaningful rewards without diving into ultra-premium annual fees.
The card delivers a competitive earn rate (1.5 Qantas Points per $1 on international purchases and 0.8 per $1 on everyday spend), providing solid value for those spending across both domestic and overseas transactions.
We also appreciate the practical travel perks: two single entry Qantas Club Complimentary Lounge Invitations each year give you access to lounges (even if you don’t hold status or fly premium class regularly), which is a useful benefit that many cards at this fee level don’t offer.
Finally, the inclusion of Complimentary International Medical Travel Insurance and Complimentary Domestic Travel Insurance and Rental Vehicle Excess Insurance in Australia, Complimentary Global Data Roaming by FlexiRoam, Flight Delay Access Pass and access to the card’s concierge service add layers of value beyond just points, helping to make the annual fee feel more worthwhile.
This guide references some of the benefits of insurance policies provided with this card. You should read the PDS and obtain independent professional advice before obtaining this product.

Airport Lounge Access Benefits
The Westpac Altitude Qantas Black comes with two digital single-entry Qantas Club Complimentary Lounge Invitations. These passes can be used at any Qantas Club (domestic) or Qantas International Business Class lounge. The passes are sent after your first Card spend on selected Qantas products and services. These are defined as Qantas flights or Qantas Frequent Flyer.
It is a useful lounge access benefit for those who don’t travel in Business often.
Complimentary Global Data Roaming by FlexiRoam
The Card can access one complimentary 3GB global data roaming plan, valid for 15 days and usable across more than 150 countries. You can choose between a physical SIM or an eSIM, depending on what your device supports.
The key thing to understand is that this benefit is issued per Card Account, not per cardholder. Because primary and additional cardholders on a Westpac credit card share the same card number, one plan is available to the account each calendar year, but additional cardholders don’t receive their own. Terms and conditions apply.
Included Insurances and other Benefits
Westpac restructured the complimentary insurance on this card in October 2026. The Card comes with Complimentary International Medical Travel Insurance, Complimentary Domestic Travel Insurance and Rental Vehicle Excess Insurance in Australia. But extended warranty, purchase protection, and trip cancellation, travel delay and luggage cover are no longer included, and you'll need to activate the international medical policy before you leave Australia.
As we say with every credit card guide, the value of each card's insurance can only really be assessed by you looking at the PID and deciding whether it is a fit for your needs.
This guide references some of the benefits of insurance policies provided with this card. Ensure you read the Westpac Credit Card International Product Disclosure Statements (effective 1 October) and Westpac Credit Cards Domestic Complimentary Insurance Policy Information Booklet (effective 1 October) before using the complimentary travel insurance on your card.
Flight Delay Access Pass
You and up to four travelling companions may also be eligible for complimentary access to over 1,800 participating airport lounges worldwide if your registered flight is delayed by 120 minutes or more, under the Complimentary Flight Delay Access Pass. Each flight needs to be registered separately, and there's no cap on how many you can register.
You'll also gain access to Westpac Concierge which are on-call 24/7 to fulfil your requests and give some useful restaurant or ticket reservation shortcuts, amongst other potential uses.
Westpac Apple Pay, Google Pay & Samsung Pay support
Westpac cards support Apple Pay, Google Pay & Samsung Pay, meaning you can use this card on your smartphone for easier payments. Find out more in our guides for each of the compatible services.
Summing up: the Westpac Altitude Qantas Black Credit Card
The Westpac Altitude Qantas Black Credit Card will not disappoint. The Card has a fairly competitive earn rate and include lounge access, which can be great for infrequent travellers that don’t hold Qantas status.
Overall, if you are after a Qantas Points-earning credit card, this is definitely one to consider.
